In the afternoon of September 28th, Professor Wu Yuzhang, Director of the Institute of Chinese Language and Characters of Renmin University of China, and Professor Wang Guiyuan, the editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine "Language and Philology" of Renmin University of China, came to our department and made a titled "Development Trends and Academic Papers of Language Studies" "The Writing" of Academic Lectures. This lecture is one of the academic activities of our department's "Hundred Years of Chinese Forum" department celebration series, hosted by Professor Zhu Keyi of our department.
Professor Wang Guiyuan first analyzed the current problems in language research and believed that academic research should return to the traditional academic spirit, and research should focus on the combination of diachronic and synchronic; the enlightenment of previous research ideas should be emphasized, and theories should not be copied. Professor Wang pointed out four new trends in modern linguistics research in terms of research materials: the transfer of handed down documents to unearthed documents, the transfer of domestic documents to foreign documents, the transfer of Tongyu documents to dialect documents, and the transfer of paper documents to oral documents (including dialects). And minority languages); think that when interpreting the literature, the interpreter should also be aware of the individual’s different knowledge structures, times and other stances to avoid drawing wrong conclusions.
With regard to the writing of academic papers, Professor Wang analyzed the characteristics of the various components of academic papers and possible problems in writing, emphasizing that "innovation is the life of academics".
